Top Medical Device sales reps have the highest leverage variable compensation with 59% of their income at risk. Top
Healthcare Vendor reps follow with 49% of their variable compensation at risk. At risk compensation has climbed
since 2011 when Medical Device rep at-risk compensation was 54% and Healthcare Vendor rep was 45%. First year
sales reps in the Medical Device industry have the largest risk-reward trade-off at nearly 44% in variable compensation. First year Pharmaceutical reps have the lowest at risk compensation with 15% in variable compensation.
